House of Dreams couldn't do the work we do without support. Every dollar from a supporter helps us care for our kitties. We treasure every donation, but every once in a while, we open the mail to a complete shock. And it actually happened twice recently that House of Dreams was the recipient of extraordinarily generous bequests, and we would like to give a special thanks and acknowledgment to:
Janice M. Morlan
Harry J Losey and Gladys I Losey Living Trust
Thank you for thinking of House of Dreams in your estate planning, and gifting us your generous bequests, which will allow us to continue to provide shelter, medical care, and a safe and loving environment for the cats in our care for many years.
Janice Morlan

Janice Morlan came to know about House of Dreams through a connection with Kristin Spurkland, a long time volunteer. She has this to share about Janice:
“A life-long Portland area resident, Janice graduated from Tigard HS and then earned an art degree from the Museum Art School. A significant presence in the early Portland punk scene, Janice created flyers and album covers for local area bands, and was known for photography that captured the energy of the era. In 2024 she was a co-curator of the “Pioneers of Portland Punk ‘77’84” exhibit at the Collins Gallery. Her career was spent at PNW Bell and other telephone companies, and then at the Multnomah County Library. In addition to supporting House of Dreams, she was a supporter of film and literary arts, a gardener, an artist & crafter, and a cat mom. Janice had a warm presence and an infectious laugh. She was beloved by those who knew her, and she is dearly missed.”
Harry & Gladys Losey
Unfortunately, we do not know how the Loseys heard about House of Dreams. We did not find record of them donating previously and none of the volunteers we spoke to were familiar with them. If any of our supporters or volunteers knew Harry and Gladys Losey, please get in touch with us. We would love to learn more about them, because we are so grateful for their generosity.

Jan was a wonderful person, it was a privilege to call her my friend. Smart, funny, tremendously talented, and very kind. She made the world a better place.
I am in possession of several cans of Fancy Feast Cat 🐈 food that was given to me to donate, as their kitty isn’t fond of the flavor…
I would like to drop to the nearest shelter to me. I’ve been to the NE PDX location, but I now live in King City. What do you suggest? Thank you!
